“Preparing For the Next Storm”Khristopher Dodson, Senior Program Manager Environmental Finance Center
Mr. Dodson provides technical assistance to local government leaders on topics related to Asset Management, Smart Growth, Land Use and Comprehensive Planning, stormwater management and other topics related to Local Infrastructure, Leadership, Management and Finance. He also has responsibility for outreach and education on water and land-use BMPs, Great Lakes science and policy, and Collaborative Governance. He has direct experience in a number of communities in which the EFC works, and has established relationships with a number of key organizations in the area. He is also the coordinator for Onondaga County’s nationally-recognized Save the Rain program. Mr. Dodson has a Masters Degree from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a Master of Arts from Syracuse University.Franco Montalto, PhD, Civil/Environmental Engineer and Hydrologist Drexel University
Dr. Montalto is a civil engineer with a strong background in both applied and theoretical approaches to solving complex environmental problems. He has a particular interest in low impact design, and in the development of ecologically, economically, and socially sensible solutions to urban environmental problems, with a focus on sustainable water resources engineering. His over 17 years of experience have included a variety of eco-hydrologic research, planning, and design projects, involving the restoration of wetlands, and the use of constructed wetlands for wastewater and stormwater treatment, as well as work with “green infrastructure” and “low impact development” technologies. He joined Drexel as an Assistant Professor in September, 2007 after a two year post doctorate research fellowship at The Earth Institute at Columbia University. He is also founder and president of eDesign Dynamics LLC, and was formerly adjunct professor at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City.John J. He is recognized for his love of the public process and his ability to shape creative, big-picture solutions that are both visionary and achievable. His work has been recognized with several national awards including the National Geographic Greenways Award and the National Award for Planning. Behan Planning and Design is a state-certified woman-owned business enterprise headed by Cynthia Behan, Landscape Architect, with offices in Saratoga Springs and New City, New York.
