Solar One, NYC’s Green Energy Education Center, with support from NYSERDA, now offers technical training for Affordable Housing building staff and property managers.

Whether you are a superintendent, property manager, or building maintainer, the courses and certifications we offer will help you make informed decisions about how to operate buildings efficiently and safely. Going green will reduce costs and tenant complaints while increasing comfort and energy efficiency.

Using certified instructors, Solar One offers training and testing for Building Operations and Maintenance certifications. Our programs use an interactive, hands-on format. Training can be held at our state-of-the-art training lab or your business site. We accept individual registrations or classes of up to 25. Discounts may be available for classes of 8 or more.

Industry Recognized Certifications and Training Courses

• GPRO Operations & Maintenance certificate

• GPRO combined with the Building Performance Institute (BPI) Multifamily Building Operator certification.

Both courses are designed for property managers and all levels of building staff in multifamily buildings.

OPTION 1: GPRO Operations & Maintenance Essentials (GPRO O&M)

This 2-1/2 day (including exam) certificate program is designed to provide the critical tools for transitioning from conventional to sustainable operations.

• Using building metrics to improve performance

• Minimizing energy use through energy efficient lighting
